Canadiana Music

I’m not sure why I started writing this entry (some time ago), but I gather it had to do with being away from my Canadian home for over a year and longing for Canadiana.

Noteworthy in my opinion, is the classic
Stompin Tom Connors

Not so classic but good,
Jim Cuddy

Newer artists include,
Ron Sexsmith
Rufus Wainwright

All have quite distinct sounds. I’m not sure how good Jim Cuddy is as of late, although he has come out with a few catchy singles (as a solo artist), and his work with Blue Rodeo has put him in the spotlight (in Canada, at least). I gather his music is somewhat dated with contemporary trends, but it makes a nice shift.

Maurice Cepeda

P.S., And no, I purposely didn’t put Rush on this list.
